Janacek The Wolf's Track for Female Voices & Piano
for female chorus on words by Jaroslav Vrchlicky
It was actually quite late in life when Leoš Janáček found himself as a composer. Starting in 1917, when he was over sixty, the most productive phase of his creative work began. Until his death in 1928, he wrote most of the works with which we associate his name today.
During his life Janáček developed a passion for Russia. He took a deep interest in folk music and felt very patriotic about Moravian and Slavonic culture, contributing to a national musical language.
Bärenreiter Praha is the publisher of the Janáček Complete edition as well as many fine Urtext editions.
