Berg Songs of the New Werther (7 Songs for Bassbaritone & Piano)

Josef Berg (1927 - 1971) was a Czech composer, musicologist and librettist.  Following studies at the Brno Conservatory, he worked as a music editor for Brno Radio but later devoted himself to composing and to promoting new musical trends in Czechoslovakia.  Initially influenced by Moravian folk music he later used 12-tone techniques.
