The present edition of the Clarinet Quintet is based on a handwritten score from the posthumous estate of the clarinetist Heinrich Baermann.  This 34-page copyist’s manuscript, which has remained in the private collection of the Baermann family, is the sole known source for this composition; no autograph material has survived.
