Mozart Overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" arranged for four Flutes (Score & Parts)
Shortly after the successful first performance of Mozart's comic opera "The Marriage of Figaro", publishers brought out a number of arrangements for a variety of instrumental combinations. At a time when there was neither radio nor CDs, playing a piece oneself was the only way to become familiar with a work other than by attending a performance.
This arrangement of the Overture for four flutes actively integrates each of the moderately difficult parts into the musical texture and gives each flutist the opportunity to discover one of the most famous works of Viennese Classicism in the same way as the “connoisseurs and amateurs” of Mozart’s day.
